In May, our speaker was Dr. Paul Gray, who lectures to
postgraduate students on the subject of human ecology. As a Director at the
European Commission, was active in the field of food safety for several years.
He spoke to us about "The Packaging Mountain".

 Koblenz
May
Once a year, the club organises a weekend away. This year's choice was
Koblenz. We arrived on the Saturday and had a guided tour of the city. In the
evening we had a wonderful dinner in a restaurant overlooking the Deutsches Eck
and on the Sunday we visited the Rhine Museum, had lunch and then visited Castle
Stolzenfels.

 Arboretum Kalmthout
April
An extra tour was organised to the famous Arboretum at Kalmthout in the hope
of seeing all the spring flowering shrubs. There were indeed quite a few in
blossom although some had been burnt by the late frosts.

Another "Saturday Special", this tour round Antwerp took us to the
places where we could find out and sample typical Antwerp food.

This year saw us having several after-meeting lunches at the Boulevard
Leopold. This was completely new for this year. We have the room to ourselves
and we greatly enjoy the conversation with other members and guest speakers.

February
This membership year saw the first ever lunches given by members. They opened
up their houses to the membership and cooked a meal. Here Carol is hosting a
Thai lunch in her home.

 Visit to the Mercator Museum
January
On this "Saturday Special" our own member Christine, who is a
professional guide, took us round the museum in St. Niklaas. A fascinating
museum. We followed the visit with a meal.

This was our first ever New Year's reception. We held it at the Boulevard
Leopold and everyone agreed it was a very enjoyable event.

This Christmas we visited a totally new venue and every place in the house
was sold out.

2007
November
November saw a group of participating in a guided tour of Leuven. We visited
the town hall and other areas. After a quick break we toured the beguinage.
The day finished off with a real Spanish paella.
