Activities

Non-members are welcome to attend any of our meetings. Occasionally there may be an extra charge. Contact us first so we will expect you and we can also arrange for one of our members to pick you up and bring you if you need transport.

Summer Months

Most clubs close down completely between the beginning of June and mid-September. We don't. You will find several activities throughout the summer, although not our usual full range.

Women meeting

Meetings

The ABIW meet on the first Tuesday morning of every month, usually with a speaker. A wide range of topics is covered. In December and June, we have a lunch instead of a speaker and in January we hold a New Year's reception.

Culture Club

Culture club undertakes visits to museums and galleries, both in and around Antwerp as well further afield, to find out more about the culture of our host country and its neighbours. Visits usually take place on the third Thursday of the month, though not always. We frequently have professional guides. These outings are very popular.

You can see some photographs taken on our outings on the Photos pages.

Books

Book Club

A book club with a difference. We don't all read the same book or maybe no book at all! Just come along and tell the group about anything you have been reading lately; good or bad. Exchange thoughts, impressions, ideas.

Coffee mornings

If you’re in town, drop by and join us for a quick cuppa or stay for a long chat. No need to book. Currently we're trying out various venues. Usually on the last Tuesday of the month.

Saturday Special Bus

Special Events

Saturday Specials are becoming extremely popular. Usually we have a professionally guided tour somewhere, followed by dinner. In the past we have visited Gent, Cortewalle Castel, had a wine tasting and a tea tasting. We have even had overnight visits to neighbouring countries. Everyone is welcome and it is a good opportunity to bring along partners, family and friends.
