De Hofkamer, 27th March

(Apologies for the quality of the photos. I had to use my phone camera!)

 

Left: The tour started in the Wolsack, the office of Erfgoed Vlaanderen. You can buy books and local produce there.

 

Below left: Inside the Hofkamer, Key explained how they removed the ceiling painting along with the history and the current restoration. 

 

Below right: The group infront of the 18th century facade of the Hofkamer. 

Left: In the ING bank the ceiling painting has been laid on the floor where it is being restored. Visitors can go in and see it any time.
Left: This photo shows the roller, around which the painting had to be wrapped for transportation.

In the foreground, you can see the tear that happened when the painting fell over. 

It will take some time before the question of insurance is settled.
